Valentines Day: You and Ren

                There are a lot of problems about being in a relationship with a famous person in a different country. You never see them, its heard to call them because the times are different, he is always doing something for his kpop group. There are so many things. And on top of all that your friends don’t even believe that your dating. That was probably the worst one. Everyone loves to be able to talk about how in love they are with their boyfriend or girlfriend, or talk about how you had a date the other night,  use the fact that you have a date as an excuse. When you try, they just go on and on about how you have to set up a whole story and set up just so they will believe you.

“oh right! I forgot you and ‘REN’ are finally going to talk im sorry I forgot you were ACTUALLY dating him.”

“oh you have a picture of him on your phone? So do I its called download.”

“maybe ill believe you if he comes to America to visit you. If he LOVES you that much.”

    Now it was February 13^th, all you were hearing from your friends was the stupid plans they have for their valentine’s day.  You wanted to puke. It was all so sappy and ridiculous you couldn’t stand listening to any of it. Of course you had no plans for this Valentine’s day. Your boyfriend was in a different country, probably preforming.

    It would be a lie if you said you were fine with him being away 24/7. You missed him a lot and a lot of the time, youll walk in your room and sulk about stupid things. ‘does he still like me?’ ‘he hasn’t been with someone else has he?’ ‘maybe the distance thing is so he dosent have to see me…’ you were almost positive none of those things were true.

    Almost, positive.

    Ren, Ren of NU’EST was your boyfriend and most of the time, there was nothing boyfriend about it. He always sounds happy on the phone when you call, and looks happy when you video chat, but it’s always you sending the call first, never him. It all just seemed so one sided.

    Friday Morning, February 14^th. You wake up and make your way to the kitchen to make some hot cocoa for yourself. There is a bark at the door and you turn to look out the window beside the door. There is a German Shepard pawing at your door. You run over to the door and hesitantly open the door. There’s a box, tied around the dogs neck.  Messenger dog? Those things still exist? The box, a silver box, about the size of an envelope was addressed to you in messy English. You untie the strings binding the box to the pooch and give him a couple pats on the head for giving you the gift.

    Walking back inside your house, you open up the box and shockingly, an envelope was inside. No wonder why it was that size. You peel back the sealing on the letter, pulling the paper with the message out.

    ‘Dear [Y/N],

    If only you were here with me in South Korea, things would be much different. I wouldn’t

    be sending you this note and you wouldn’t be reading it now. I could have called to tell you

    all of this but I felt that a hand written letter was much more romantic. The fact that this took

    me night after night to write this, really says something. You should see how any versions

    of this letter I wrote, but none of them were….right. I felt this one is going to be right, not

    because it is the most heart-felt one, but because it was, natural and like I was actually speaking

    to you.

    Perhaps I start writing about the purpose of this letter.

    Yes that’s a good idea.

    Anyways, [Y/N] I know this has been hard, keeping up our relationship when we haven’t seen

    each other face to face in almost a year. Nothing’s changed between us has it? None of my

    feelings for you have changed, and I only pray that your feelings for me remain unchanged.

    There were so many times I felt empty, because I saw other people with their loves smiling and

    Showing off their relationship and I could only think about doing that with you. Never doing

    It though. That’s the sad part. I would have sent many more letters just like this one but I wanted

    to wait for the perfect moment to send you my surprise letter. The problem was I didn’t know

    when the perfect time to send it to you was. It wasn’t until Aron Hyung mentioned the American

    Valentine ’s Day that It clicked. Of course, we have our similar holidays to Valentine ’s Day, but

    its not the same celebrating them overseas. Am I still blabbering about what im doing?

    Sorry.

    My point in all of this, Is that im still here for you [Y/N]. our overseas relationship WILL work because undying love never dies. That’s why it is undying. The fact that I have to wait until you come back to visit with your work only makes me feel like our relationship is being run by someone else, not us. Your work schedule shouldn’t be the one deciding when we meet or not, right?

    Waiting for you to open your door? You look up from the letter and you can see the silhouette of a person in the doorway.  No way. This is a joke, your being punk’d.

    You can’t help but take the risk. You bolt towards the door a lightning speed, opening it was fumbling nervous. The hope that perhaps this was your Boyfriend, the boyfriend you never thought you would see for another year was almost binging you to tears with joy.

    The door flies open.

    The same smiling face.

    “Love cant hold me back from you.”
